Bayou D'arbonne Lake

One of the Largest Lakes of Northern Louisiana

Bayou D’arbonne is one of the largest bodies of water in northern Louisiana. Featuring rolling hills, canyons, pine forests, and sparkling waters is also one of the state’s most beautiful areas.

Farmersville, on the eastern shore, provides Walmart, Union General Hospital, restaurants, pharmacies, banking, and schools. Monroe is approximately 30 miles away, housing a greater list of city establishments and Monroe Regional Airport.

A Grand Stretch of 15,250 Acres

A dam was built in the early 1960s on Bayou D’arbonne by the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Its waters now cover a massive 15,250 acres.

With the lake having an average depth of eight feet and a maximum depth of 40 feet, it allows for a variety of recreation. Along its 100 miles of shoreline, you have access to 14 public boat ramps and countless fishing platforms.

A Recreational Dream

In the rural hills of Northern Louisiana, Bayou D’arbonne is an outdoorsman’s paradise.

Fishers treasure the lake for its plentiful stock of walleye, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, perch, and bream. A 15-pound bass caught in 2000 holds the lake’s record.

With so much space on the waters, there is plenty of room left for watersports like boating, water skiing, or tubing. Others enjoy a more peaceful tour of the lake in a kayak or canoe.

On the Shores

Bayou D’arbonne State Park sits adjacent to the lake’s western shore. Its 665 acres feature three excellent hiking trails, a swimming pool, tennis court, campsites, and playgrounds.

Lake D’arbonne Golf Course and Country Club feature a 9-hole par 36 course that has been a local favorite since 1983.
